About Us

Elena's Emporium is a lifelong dream of the owner. She is a Tampa native that worked for several years as a special needs teacher and specialist. She was drawn to that career after her own son was diagnosed with autism. Being a public servant and single special needs mom, led her to rely heavily on consignment shops, yard sales, and thrift stores to provide for her family. This sustainable shopping became a family tradition and grew her passion to provide the same services to other families and community members. So with a strong desire to own her own business, she left teaching to cultivate a thrift store built on years of personal experiences and ideas of how to better serve the city she loves so deeply.

Unfortunately, just as life so frequently does, right when she leased a space for her store, she was diagnosed with an invasive form of breast cancer that put her dream, once again, on hold.

But with her perseverance, and the support of her friends and family, she has finally made her dream a reality. Elena's Emporium is finally open to the public, and exists to serve the Tampa community.
